“35 North Main was completed in 1921. 100 years later, this assembly hall was creatively reimagined as Meetinghouse’s offices…”
Not all architecture firms get the chance to create their own workspace. Luckily, we have the opportunity to share our vision with clients in a truly immersive way.
35 North Main Street was built in 1921 as a replacement for Cosmian Hall - the original home of the “Florence Free Thinkers” or Free Congregational Society. Designed to house an assembly of 100+, much of the building's historic character has been lost over time. When taking over ownership of the space, it became our responsibility to restore the interior and bring back its ability to amaze its inhabitants.
Centrally located computer workstations, modeling benches and separate breakout spaces for drawing review make this an ideal design space.
A conference room equipped with a wide screen and conference system means formerly mandatory in-person project reviews for clients are now obsolete.
The interior program was modeled after the progression of the design process, culminating at the stage - an elevated conversation and review space.
